Fall Time

One thing that I have never gotten used to being out here in the desert is not having a fall season. Oh, how I miss it! The smell of the crisp fall air, going to a REAL pumpkin patch (not something fenced in in a parking lot, that always makes me laugh) and having warm apple cider doughnuts!

Daphne has officially started 2nd grade! She is loving being back with all her friends. It's amazing how much she still remembers from last year. She is excited to get involved in all the fall sports.

Evan is our little energizer bunny! He just doesn't stop. We learned the other day that he can count to 10 in Spanish! Guess all the money we are paying for his daycare is paying off!

Some pictures to enjoy

Toy Story 3

Tonight we wanted to treat the kiddos to Toy Story 3. So, we headed on over a little early to get good parking and seats. The kids were pretty excited and a little impatient until the previews started. It was so cute how "sucked in" Daphne was. Evan on the other hand turned to us and said "come on Toy Story". It was pretty funny! I think we all had a good time.

Time Flys!

We have been a little busy over the past several weeks, hence the long stretch of space between postings.

Daphne finished up first grade in May of this year! She is very excited to be a second grader next school year, I just can't believe how fast the time has flown by. She lost her two front teeth within the space of 2 weeks of each other, she was pretty excited that the tooth fairy came twice that month. She is staying busy with lots of activites this summer.

Evan turned 2 several months ago. We had a good little time celebrating his birthday, I think he enjoyed it more this year. He gave us quite the scare a few weeks ago when he fell off a bench onto the concrete landing directly on his head. Thankfully, he turned out to be okay.

Jeff and I are staying very busy between work, church, family and me with school. It's been a fun balancing act, but we are getting pretty good at it.

We were lucky to be able to visit with our families several times over the last several months. We went back to Kansas for a VERY quick visit in March to say good-bye to my Dad until he returns back from his assignment overseas. We were also able to visit Jeff's side of the family while we were there. Then, they surprised us a few weeks ago and drove out. It was so nice to see them. Sometimes you don't realize how much you miss your family until they come for a visit. It was nice to visit even though the visits were so short.

We ended up staying in our house in Anthem. It was so nice not to have to move, for those of you that know us well know we have had our fair share of moves. So, we are hopefully holding out on moving for awhile.

2.)Evan is getting 4 teeth in!

3.) Enrolled Daphne in before and after care; Evan in Daycare (see below)

4.) Going back to work full-time at USAA.

5.) Looking for a house to buy.

6.) Trying to plan a trip to KS.

7.) Signing up for new classes

8.) Bought a new camera, just haven't really used it yet.

And so much more! Needless to say it's been busy around here. So, if I seem a little scatter brained lately, you'll know why.

Happy 30th Birthday!

Happy 30th Birthday to my hubby! I can hardly believe he is 30. Where has the time gone? I can think of a million reasons I am thankful for him. He is such an amazing person, husband and father. He always helps out whenever I need him.

Can you believe it's almost Christmas?!

I can hardly believe that it's that time of year again! Where did the year go? Christmas is sneeking up on us fast!

This time of year makes me miss the midwest a ton! It is just hard to think it's the Christmas season when you are wearing flip-flops. Thankfully, it has cooled off. We even are getting into the lower 40s at night! So that kinda reminds me of the midwest.

We were hoping to do the Polar Express in Williams this year. I hear it sells out so fast, like a year in advance. So, if we can find tickets maybe we can head up there. I heard it is really neat. It would be nice to see the snow again (in person).

We were so thankful that my parents and sister can down for Thanksgiving. It went by way too fast though. We were very sad to send them back home. While they were out, we went to Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa. For those of you who are not familiar with this place, it is really neat. They have this HUGE pipe organ. They play all sorts of different songs while you eat. Evan and Daphne were sucked in. It was funny to watch them. It is always such a fun thing to do.

We want to wish all of our friends and family a very Merry Christmas!

(We'll post pictures, once we get a new camera. Our's broke)

First day of 1st grade!

Pictures, pictures, pictures

A little belated!

Happy Birthday Daphne! Yes, I know it's a little late, but better late than never. We surprised Daphne by taking her to Disneyland and the beach for her birthday. We wanted to wait until we were getting ready to pass by Disneyland, but LA traffic! We were stuck for a while, and I couldn't wait to tell her.

We gave her a Princess dress for her to wear around the park. I'm surprised she kept it on as long as she did. It was 90+ out. I painted her nails, put on make-up (Arbonne of course). She even let me do "Princess hair". Curls, glitter and everything. It was a lot of fun. Next time, we will try and avoid the heat.

Evan...didn't think so much of Mickey. At first, he was all excited, pointing and trying to talk to Mickey. Then, it was picture time. This is what happened.

Oh, Disneyland...where dreams come true!

This picture happened, because Evan insisted I take a picture of him, while I was taking Daphne's lost tooth picture. He kept grabbing at the camera. I told him to smile, and this is what happened. Pretty funny!

The First Visit From the Tooth Fairy!

And so, our little Princess Daphne lost her first tooth this week. It has been in the works for awhile, but she wouldn't let us pull it. So, the other morning I told her I was just "polishing" it while it was in her mouth. I grabbed hold, and she said "no". Before she could finish the "no", it was already out. It was barely in there. Funny enough, the adult tooth was already pretty far up.

I told her that she would have to put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy that night. While we were eating dinner, she said "I gotta eat fast. I've got to go to bed so the tooth fairy can come."(This was at 5:30pm!) I told her she could still go to bed early, and she did. It was a very easy night for bedtime with her!

We were so lucky this past week to have my Mom come out to visit. It's so nice to have family come. We wish more of them could have joined us. We had a blast! It was really hard to take her to the airport today. The kids enjoyed having one of their Grandma's here to "play" with. Daphne had no problems; but Evan is in major Mommy-mode. If it's not Mommy, he's gonna scream. I think he finally warmed up this morning...before the ride to the airport.

Thanks for coming out to visit Mom! We already miss you.

Evan's 1st Birthday!

Here are pictures from Evan's first birthday.
